This robot follows a fixed return logic: after finishing the full cleaning cycle, it will climb the pool wall and stay docked at the waterline for 10 minutes, making it easy for you to retrieve it in time. If you do not take the robot out within this 10-minute window, it will automatically descend back to the pool floor and enter standby mode. Since Wi-Fi signals cannot penetrate water, your Beatbot App will not receive the cleaning completion notification immediately. The notification will automatically sync to your Beatbot App once you pull the robot out of the pool.
Below are common causes of this tilting issue and step-by-step fixes:
a. Clogged Filter Basket (Top Cause)
Heavy debris during initial pool startup clogs the filter basket rapidly and triggers tilting.
- Use the robot as an auxiliary tool for initial startup, and as your daily primary cleaner.
- Pre-work: Remove large floating debris, disinfect microorganisms, run your pool pump and skimmer for at least 24 hours.
- For heavily soiled pools: Use the included standard filter basket, select Floor Mode, run multiple short cleaning cycles.
- Note: The ultra-fine filter basket clogs easier and causes tilting more often — always finish basic pool cleaning with the standard basket first.
b. Special Pool Layouts
Shallow sun shelves, steep ramps and other non-standard pool shapes often cause tilting.
- Fix: Update your Beatbot App firmware to the latest version.
c. Immediate Tilting After Submersion
Trapped air bubbles inside the unit cause the robot to tilt right after entering water.
- Fix: Fully submerge the robot, shake it up and down to release all trapped air bubbles, then resume operation.
General Best Practice
Whenever you run into this tilting issue, always place the robot in the pool deep end to start the cleaning cycle. If none of the steps above resolve the problem, contact us for further assistance.

If your robot powers on normally but fails to charge when connected to the adapter, follow these troubleshooting steps:
① Verify that the power outlet is live. You can confirm this by plugging in another working electronic device to test the outlet.
② Inspect the robot’s charging port, then wipe it clean with a damp towel. If white crystalline deposits form on the port, use citric acid or white vinegar to remove the buildup.
③ Test the adapter voltage with a multimeter. Touch the red and black probes to the two metal terminals on the adapter respectively.
a. If the measured voltage is below 26.6V or above 30V, contact us for a replacement adapter.
b. If the measured voltage falls between 26.6V and 30V, the adapter is functioning properly — please contact us to arrange a robot replacement.
Under identical cleaning modes, your robot’s battery runtime may be impacted by several key factors:
- Pool shape and the pool's cleanliness level
- Clogged filter basket or use of the ultra-fine filter basket
- Any cleaning abnormalities (e.g., motor overcurrent, robot getting stuck)
All these conditions can increase power consumption. A full filter basket or clogged filter mesh can reduce climbing power, causing the robot to repeatedly attempt climbing and use more battery.
Please clean the filter basket thoroughly, fully charge the robot, and then put it back in the pool to restart the cleaning cycle.
To boost your robot’s overall cleaning coverage, choose the cleaning mode that best fits your pool layout and needs:
a. How Each Mode Works
- Floor Mode: The robot first cleans the main open floor areas using an S-shaped path, then runs a second full-floor sweep to target missed spots and corners.
- Standard Mode: The robot cleans the floor, walls, and waterline in one continuous cycle, gradually expanding its coverage over time.
b. Overlapping Paths Are Normal
If you see the robot retracing its path, it’s usually because of irregular pool edges, steps, or underwater fixtures. The robot will automatically adjust its route when it detects overlap, and will still achieve the intended high coverage by the end of the cycle.
c. Mode Recommendations
- For better floor and corner cleaning, or if the robot spends too much time on a shallow sun shelf, use Floor Mode and set the runtime to Max.
- To focus on wall cleaning, select Wall Mode and set the runtime to Max.
If you find the robot stays completely stationary on the pool floor, pull it out of the water first, then follow these troubleshooting steps:
① Power off the robot, open the top cover of the unit, and take out the filter basket.
② Check if any foreign debris is stuck or tangled around the pump impeller.
a. If no debris is found, gently nudge the impeller with a thin rigid stick to confirm it spins smoothly in both clockwise and counterclockwise directions.
b. If you spot foreign debris, remove the impeller guard, inspect and clear all trapped debris from the impeller. Reinstall the impeller guard afterward to make sure it is secured tightly.
If the robot still fails to work properly after you finish all the steps above, contact us for further assistance.

The robot cannot recognize the ultra-fine filter basket
In this case, please first update the firmware in your Beatbot App to the latest version before using the ultra-fine filter basket.
The robot tilts upward when using the ultra-fine filter basket
This happens because the ultra-fine filter basket clogs more easily, which causes the unit to tilt upward. We recommend using the included standard filter basket first for full floor and wall cleaning. Only switch to the ultra-fine filter basket when fine debris builds up on the pool floor, then select Floor Mode to target the floor specifically.
Quick pre-use tip: Briefly submerge the ultra-fine filter basket and gently shake it for 10 seconds to let it soak and release trapped air.

After the robot completes a full cleaning cycle and successfully returns to the pool shore, it will automatically start draining water on the deck.
If the robot stops cleaning due to an error alert or fails to return to the surface, it will not complete the automatic draining cycle. The buoyancy chamber pump will automatically restart the draining sequence once the robot is powered back on. This full process takes approximately 5 minutes. If draining is interrupted mid-cycle, the robot will resume draining while powered on after you remove it from the water, until all water inside the buoyancy chamber is fully evacuated.
In Floor Mode, the robot follows a structured S-shaped path for the first half of the cleaning cycle to cover all main open areas of the pool floor. It then runs a full-coverage supplementary sweep across the entire floor in the second half, to improve cleaning in tight corners and hard-to-reach spots.
In Standard Mode, the robot cleans the entire pool floor, walls, and waterline continuously, with its total surface coverage rate gradually increasing as the cycle progresses. If you want to prioritize enhanced corner cleaning, we recommend switching to Floor Mode and setting the cleaning runtime to Max.
If you see the robot overlapping its path during cleaning, this is usually due to irregular pool edges, built-in fixtures, or other underwater obstacles. The robot will automatically adjust its route when it detects repeated coverage to achieve optimal cleaning results.
You can troubleshoot the issue based on where the leak is coming from:
a. Leaking from the side cover panel
- Pull out the station’s filter basket and remove the foam pad underneath it.
- Make sure the station’s drain hose is positioned lower than the outlet port. Adjust the hose if needed — this should stop the leak from the side panels.
b. Leaking from the water line connections
- Check the water inlet and drain hoses to confirm all fittings are fully connected and tight. Re-seat and secure any loose connections.
- Check that the hose clamp is fully tightened and the PTFE tape is securely wrapped to prevent any leaks.
c. Leaking from the nozzle protector
- A small amount of water spillage during the self-cleaning cycle is normal.
- If you open the robot’s top cover and notice the spray nozzle cap is stuck and can’t spin properly to rinse the filter basket, please contact us for a replacement spray nozzle.
If the leak continues after trying all of the above steps, contact us for further assistance.
You can troubleshoot this abnormal closing issue by following these steps in order:
a. Check for any leftover debris stuck around the filter basket bottom door, and confirm the door release button springs back smoothly when pressed. Clear all trapped debris, then try closing the door again.
b. If the door still won’t close after removing debris, check if the bottom door hinge is cracked or deformed. If the hinge is confirmed damaged, contact us for a replacement filter basket.
c. Lift the robot off the self-cleaning station, then press and hold the station’s self-clean button and function button for 10 seconds to restore factory settings. Run the station’s self-check cycle once, and the bottom door will return to normal open/close operation.
If the filter basket bottom door still cannot close properly after completing all the steps above, contact us for further assistance.
You can troubleshoot this issue by checking the following common causes:
a. Clogged filter basket
The most frequent reason the robot struggles to return to the surface is a clogged filter basket. To keep the unit in peak working condition, always place the robot on the self-cleaning station to run a full self-clean cycle after every completed cleaning task.
b. Debris tangled around the brush or tracks
If you find the robot stuck on the pool floor and receive the "Debris detected tangled around brush or tracks" alert in your app after retrieving it, carefully remove any entangled debris from the brush or tracks before restarting the robot.
c. Pool coping sits too close to the waterline
If your pool’s raised coping is positioned too near the waterline, the robot’s handle may not be able to fully break the surface. To fix this, lower the water level to leave at least 7 inches (18 cm) of clearance between the pool coping and the waterline.
If the issue still persists after trying all the steps above, upload the logs through your Beatbot App, then contact us with your device serial number for further help.
The robot comes with a standard filter basket that captures particles as small as 150 microns in diameter. However, extra-fine debris like fine sand, dust, and tiny algae microorganisms can slip through the filter mesh and get ejected out of the pump outlet.
To filter these ultra-fine particles far more effectively, we offer an ultra-fine non-woven filter basket that traps particles as small as 3 microns. If you want to learn more about this upgrade, simply contact us to claim it for free.
Pairing the robot with the self-cleaning station to unlock full functions. If you’re unable to complete pairing:
a. Confirm both the self-cleaning station and the robot are powered on, and the station has finished its self-check.
b. Keep the robot within 1 meter of the station.
c. Press and hold the "Standard Mode" button on the robot for 3 seconds until its indicator light flashes white to enter pairing mode.
d. Press and hold the "Self-Clean" button on the station for 3 seconds until its indicator light flashes white to enter pairing mode. The robot will automatically search for nearby stations to pair with. Once pairing completes, the station will announce "Pairing successful". If you hear "Pairing failed, please retry", repeat the steps above to try again.
If you still can’t complete pairing, contact us for technical assistance.
Follow these steps in order to get your station connected quickly:
a. Auto-setup via robot Wi-Fi sync
If you’ve already paired the robot with the station, and the robot is successfully connected to Wi‑Fi, the robot will automatically sync Wi‑Fi credentials to the station to finish setup. This process takes about 30 seconds, and you can check the station status in the "Station" tab of the Beatbot App once it’s connected.
b. Manual Wi‑Fi setup
If the station doesn’t connect automatically, it most likely can’t pick up the Wi‑Fi signal the robot is using. Go to your robot’s page in the Beatbot App, tap "Station Network Setup" under the "Station" section, and follow the on-screen prompts to finish manual setup.
c. Station goes offline after normal connection
If both devices were previously connected normally and the station goes offline later, this is usually caused by temporary network fluctuations. The station will automatically retry connecting on a set schedule, and will come back online once the network stabilizes. The offline status won’t affect the self-clean function, and you can also manually re-trigger a pairing process to restore the connection.
If you still can’t get the station online after trying all the steps above, contact us for technical assistance.
The most common factor affecting wall-climbing performance is debris accumulation in the filter basket. For optimal performance, please watch our video guide on cleaning the filter basket.

b. Entanglement in Roller Brush or Track Wheels
If you notice your robot staying at the bottom of the pool and receive a "Detected entanglement on the roller brush or track wheels" notification in the app after retrieval, click here for troubleshooting steps.
c. Coping Edge Too Close to Waterline
If the pool's coping edge is too close to the waterline, it may prevent the handle from fully emerging. To fix this, lower the water level to maintain at least 7 inches (18 cm) of clearance between the coping edge and the waterline.
If the issue persists after trying these troubleshooting steps, please upload a log through your Beatbot App and contact us with your device's serial number for further assistance. Click here to learn how to locate your serial number and upload logs in the Beatbot app.
The AquaSense 2/A200 comes equipped with a 150-micron (μm) filter basket, which can filter particles as small as 150 micrometers. However, any particles in the pool that are smaller than 150 micrometers, including fine sand debris, will pass through the filter mesh and be expelled through the water outlet.
For improved filtration of very fine debris, we offer an optional aftermarket fine filter basket that can capture particles as small as 60 micrometers. If you'd like to explore this upgrade, simply contact us to request a free one.

If the cleaning cycle is interrupted, preventing the robot from surfacing, water may remain in the buoyancy chamber. When placed on the charging dock, the robot will automatically activate its pump to drain this water (a normal process taking about 3 minutes).
Recommended Manual Drainage Steps:
a. Retrieve the robot and place it poolside
b. Press and hold the Floor Mode button for 3 seconds to start manual drainage (~3 minutes)
c. After draining, dry the charging contacts with a towel before returning to the dock
Important Notes:
a. If power is lost during drainage, the process will restart when powered back on. Always ensure complete drainage before powering off
b. For long-term storage, always perform manual drainage to prevent microbial growth and potential clogs
The battery life in the same cleaning mode can be affected by several factors, including:
- The robot's initial entry point into the water
- Path planning direction and number of lines
- Pool cleanliness level
- Dustbin clogging status
- Any cleaning abnormalities (e.g., motor overcurrent, robot getting stuck)
All these factors can increase power consumption. A full filter basket or clogged filter mesh can reduce climbing power, causing the robot to repeatedly attempt climbing and use more battery.
Please clean the filter basket thoroughly, fully charge the robot, and then put it back in the pool to restart the cleaning cycle. Click hereto watch our video guide on cleaning the filter basket.
If you're noticing that your AquaSense 2/A200 isn't following a consistent cleaning pattern, here are the most common reasons:
a. Irregular Pool Bottom Shape
If your pool has a large, rounded bottom where the floor and walls blend without a clear boundary, or if the floor shape is complex, the robot's path planning may fail. In this case, the robot will enter Deep Sense Mode and clean using a random path to ensure maximum coverage.
b. Multi-Platform Mode Activated
If MultiZone Mode is selected, the robot will default to Deep Sense Mode and clean using a random path.
For Consistent S-Shaped Path Cleaning:
Please go to the Beatbot app and select "Custom Mode - Floor x2". In this mode, the robot will perform two perpendicular S-shaped cleaning passes to cover the pool floor as efficiently as possible.
Charging Indicator Lights:
- Orange breathing light: Battery level ≤ 15%
- Yellow breathing light: Battery level > 15% but ≤ 30%
- Green breathing light: Battery level > 30%
Troubleshooting steps:
a. Indicator Light Mismatch
If the charging light doesn't match the battery level indicators, please restart the robot and check if the light returns to normal.
b. Robot Powers On But Won't Charge
If your robot turns on but doesn't charge when placed on the dock, please check that your power outlet is working. If the outlet is functional, the charging dock may be faulty.
c. Testing the Charging Dock
Please use a multimeter set to voltage mode. Touch the probes to the metal contacts on the charging dock.
- If the voltage reads above 25.6V, the dock is functioning properly, and the issue lies with the robot.
- If the voltage reads below 25.6V, the charging dock is faulty.
If the robot is not charging, please contact us for replacement.
Reasons why the robot gets stuck on the drain:
a. Suction from the Water Pump
When the pool circulation system is running, the robot can get stuck on the drain due to suction. We recommend turning off the water pump before operating the robot.
b. Physical Obstruction
If the drain protrudes from the pool floor, the robot's tracks may lose contact with the ground when passing over it, preventing proper movement. To solve this, you can purchase a properly sized drain cover clip. Once installed, the clip will provide traction for the robot's tracks and brush, allowing it to pass over the drain smoothly.
